ok. so LA is officially scary. we're right by the airport and this neighborhood is shit. really bad. i walked down the block to get some air and was nervous like you are in some parts of detroit walking around. i hate that feeling. i like the fact that i can walk around almost anywhere in anchorage and NEVER even think about basic survival. we should be past that.
i ate at Jack in the Box. there were 5 kids (all siblings) there and they were pooling their change to buy food. the oldest was maybe 10 and the youngest was 2 or so. they didn't have enough money to get a soda so i didn't drink mine and left it on the table behind them. i hope they saw it.
